Rascal's Story

[pawprints]

Rascal was barely 6 weeks old and was left at the Albuquerque Animal Shelter. She was so tiny and so cute that we hoped and prayed that someone would adopt her before her time was up. However her time ran out and we could not bear for such a small baby to be put to sleep so we bailed her out. She looked like a tiny stuffed animal and not like a live puppy! That was in 1994.

Baby Rascal

Too cute for words!

Rascal grew to be a wonderful friend. She prefers to be with people and sometimes chooses to be outside rather than inside (we dog-types find that amazing don't we!). Rascal is great with babies and older people as she is so calm and never puts her feet on you. She loves to be groomed (good thing with all that hair) and closes her eyes whenever someone is combing her. She would like to be the Alpha dog and sometimes has problems being part of a large group. She loves to lie next to you and will stay there for hours.

UPDATE: Rascal has moved to New Mexico to live with Brandon and Talia and their dog Ashley. She provides companionship to Ashley and is happier in a situation with fewer other dogs. She has a hard time with the larger pack and is more comfortable with only one other dog in the group.

Adopt a shelter pet.
